Paul Mulshine, a columnist for the Star-Ledger of Newark, NJ wrote a piece recently, "An odd silence about the drug that killed a Beatle."

In it he points out that none of the news articles about George Harrison's death say anything about his smoking as the cause of his cancer. I had been wondering about that too. How does a person die of throat cancer and smoking not get mentioned?

He points out, "The tobacco companies kill Americans at the rate of about one World Trade Center tragedy every five days."

The last five Marlboro men died of cancer before age 60. George Harrison was only 58.
