The red dots follow the route suggested by Crowder, D.F., Tabor, R.W., starting at Hannegan Pass. The blue dots show alternate routes to Whatcom/Perfect Pass, and over Elephant
Butte to Diablo.  Our first trip followed the red dots to the S. Pickets and then took Elephant Butte. My solo trip followed the red dots to the camp near Fury,
followed Goodell Creek to the highway, orange dots. The Elephant Butte route has no "green hell," but it is a longer distance to hike. Probably worth it.
